Born and bred in Winnipeg, Meghan earned her BSc in biology from the University of Manitoba with plans to go into veterinary medicine. Before coming to Think Shift, Meghan worked in retail at a pet store, helping customers find their next furry friend, and then reception at an animal hospital. As Think Shift's office administrator, Meghan loves serving those around her – whether it be by booking flights for our team, coordinating print jobs and courier requests, or even slicing fruit for the office in the morning. Whatever the situation, Meghan strives to help others be the best they can be.
Outside of Think Shift, Meghan is ruled primarily by two passions: the joy of dance and the Chicago Blackhawks. She’s been a Blackhawks fan since 2005, initially following the team to cheer for Winnipeg boy Jonathan Toews before being won over by the team’s tenacity. Dancing is something she’s done her entire life, though in early 2014 she began taking classes to learn new styles. One of her favourites is West Coast Swing.
Q. What frustrates you the most?
A. I get the most frustrated when I see or hear about violence in our world. I find it sad that human beings cannot always treat each other with respect and dignity. I would love to see violence come to an end in our civilization, and yet realize that it is improbable. But by being caring and polite to those around you, maybe you can help be that change.
Q. If you had to live on a dessert island, what would you miss the most?
A. Music, I love listening to music. Especially if I were on this island alone, I would prefer to have other people’s voices to listen to other than the voice in my head. I find music to be motivating and inspiring. If I could add a good dance partner, I might just stay on the island.
