Milt Stegall – He’s Still Got It!

For Immediate Release

Winnipeg, MB, November 25, 2014 – Milt Stegall, arguably the best receiver to play in the CFL, shows us that he’s still got it. The 44-year-old Winnipeg Blue Bomber alumnus stripped down for the new Nott Autocorp commercial, which is set to air just in time for the 102nd annual Grey Cup.

Directed by local agency Think Shift, the 30-second commercial closes in on Stegall breaking a sweat while voiceover describes how hard work and a desire to succeed have elevated the athlete to where he is today.

The commercial was filmed in Winnipeg at Crossfit 204 gym and Gimli Speedway. The spot highlights Nott Autocorp’s new business venture: the construction of the very first luxury auto and art gallery on Kensaton and Waverley.

“It was exciting to work with one of our city’s greatest known athletes,” says Jay Holdnick of Think Shift. “Milt embodies the pride of Winnipeg; the crew was star-stuck on set.”

Stegall came to Winnipeg in the fall of 1995 and, by the fall of 2008, he had taken a chunk of the record book and made it his own.

Stegall’s popularity hasn’t gone unnoticed in political circles. Premier Gary Doer declared Friday, August 24 “Milt Stegall Day” and inducted him into the Order of the Buffalo Hunt, the province’s highest honour for outstanding accomplishments. Former mayor Sam Katz announced the city had renamed Arena Drive, just north of the stadium, in honour of Stegall.

“I’ve been here for 13 years,” said Stegall following his final game with the Blue Bombers, “over a third of my life, and it’s been great.”

Stegall played 14 years in the CFL and is now an analyst on TSN. He retired with 15,153 receiving yards and was the all-time touchdown leader, staying near the top of almost every receiving record in the book.

It’s safe to say that Winnipeg will always have a special place in its heart for Milt’s magic, and now we can see it a few times a day on our own TVs.
