For Immediate Release: EY has named Think Shift Founder & CEO David Baker as a finalist in the prestigious EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2017TMAwardsfor the Prairies region. David was hand-picked by the consulting giant due to his work helping traditional businesses reinvent themselves in the era of online communication.
“EY’s Entrepreneur of The Year program celebrates the men and women who dare to dream big and build boldly,” says Rob Jolley, Prairies program Director.
“From coast to coast, our regional finalists are entrepreneurs who make the most of uncertainty, disrupt traditional business models and develop solutions to unforeseen problems. They make us proud to be Canadian.”
Based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba and operating a second office in Portland, Oregon, Think Shift has grown from its humble beginnings as a two-person web development firm into a digital advertising agency and consultancy spanning two countries and employing more than 70 people. Think Shift has always advocated for intentional change, and David lived out that belief, steering the company through transformative times, including two mergers and a cultural overhaul.
“It’s always been a place where people can try new things and explore the edges. Even as a small shop with 15 people helping clients create an online presence, we tried to think differently,” says Gordon Dmytriw, Vice President of Consulting Services. “As I look back now, I can see how Think Shift grew from the ‘think differently’ seed David planted so many years ago.”
For David, the recognition is simply a testament to his employees: “It shines a light on our people,” he says. “I’m fortunate to work with such a dedicated group. Our Think Shifters truly care about their clients and their work, and this wouldn’t have been possible without the talented team we’ve built over the years.”
The Prairies program named 33 finalists across nine categories, and will recognize each of them at the Prairies awards gala in October at the Telus Convention Centre in Calgary.
One finalist will be named the overall Prairies winner during the gala, and will be eligible to compete with winners from the Quebec, Atlantic, Pacific and Ontario regions for the Canadian Entrepreneur of the Year title.
Think Shift is an advertising agency and corporate culture consultancy that helps organizations change from the inside out, creating connected clients, engaged employees and intentional leaders.
