Kiirsten May spent three years as a copywriter at another local advertising agency before joining the Think Shift team. After a brief stint as an account coordinator, she has returned to her true passion: writing. Kiirsten is currently obsessed with two new advertising philosophies: brands should be built on respect and love, and content deserves strategic planning and meaningful investment.
Kiirsten has a joint degree in communications from Red River College and the University of Winnipeg.
Q. Is there any food that helps you think more creatively?
A. Spicy red wine or bitterly dark chocolate. Or both!
Q. What got you into this business in the first place?
A. I love meeting people who are passionate about what they do. Every time I tour a client’s facility, I want to submit an application and join their team. Advertising is one of the few jobs that lets you explore a thousand careers from the comfort of your own.
Q. Tell us about your pets.
A. I have a horse. His name is Mojito. He used to race at Assiniboia Downs, and he was terrible at it. Luckily, Mojito is pretty good at his new job: jumping. He also loves carrots and is very good at persuading people to feed them to him.
