Art and bad puns have always been two of Lorraine’s favourite things, so you can imagine her excitement at learning she could turn this into a career! Granted, it took a lot of hard work, some education and a little socialization, but good things have come of this, and she has been working in advertising agencies since her graduation from Red River College Advanced Diploma Program in 2009. During her time in school, and in the years that followed, Lorraine took a bit of a tour through Winnipeg’s larger ad agencies before landing here right after the Great Think Shift Flood of September 2013.
Over the years she has worked on many different projects, exploring creative processes across a variety of platforms, including branding, traditional print design and online development, allowing her to think both strategically and obsessively. Lorraine loves learning the ins and outs of a client, doing campaign work and seeing a project through from concept to execution. She wears the informal title of go-to-gal with pride. With a passion for all things beautiful and creative, Lorraine believes that you are never done learning and should challenge yourself each day to try new things, break routine and get inspired.
Outside of the office, she spends her spare time outdoors with friends and family. She can often be found painting, crafting, gardening and searching out new projects. She’s been married to the love of her life, Ian Dueck, since 2013; together they’re always on the look out for new travel oppounities or their next big adventure.
Q. Is there any food that helps you think more creatively?
A. Does Starbucks qualify as a food group? Not sure if it’s the coffee, the walk or the fresh air, but there is something about an over-priced coffee walk that makes me refreshed and inspired.
